Learn at Dartmoor Zoo
Set in a unique location, Dartmoor Zoo offers a wide range of packages designed to inspire students to learn about the animal world, conservation and our native wildlife.
Delivered by our team of enthusiastic professionals, the sessions are put together around the national curriculum and support cross curriculum delivery.
The packages below are for EYFS up to Key Stage 4. For Post-16 prices please email us.
Explorer Package
Self-guided visit
Includes:
- Entry to the zoo
- Meet on arrival with your member of the Education team
- An end of day catch up to answer your pupils questions and round off the days learning
£7.50 per pupil
Discovery Package
Mix exploration with learning
Includes:
- Entry to the zoo and one workshop per class
- Meet on arrival with your member of the Education team
- Reserved lunch space in our restaurant

Adventurer Package
A full day of guided learning
Includes:
- Entry to the zoo and two workshops per class
- Meet on arrival with your member of the Education team
- Reserved lunch space in our restaurant
£10.00 per pupil
Discovery Plus Package
The ultimate package to deliver a whole topic!
Includes:
- A half day outreach session to set your group off on their topic
- A Discovery package zoo visit to enrich pupil learning
- A follow-up virtual call to round off your topic

Education Workshops
Join us for an unforgettable day where we help your students delve into the world of Dartmoor Zoo…learn more about our animals and the conservation work we do through our workshops and guided tours, all of which we can adapt to meet the needs of your class. When booking please let us know the objective of your trip so we can tailor your visit to meet your learning needs as much as possible.
Our inclusive, active workshops provide cross-curricular opportunities and are designed to enrich children’s learning experiences. Created in line with National Curriculum objectives, they can support your classroom teaching, launch your topic or simply provide a fun day out!
Our workshops last for 45 minutes and can accommodate a maximum of 30 students.

Premium
Our three premium workshops offer a fun, in-depth look at a topic over a whole visit (10am to 2pm). They are designed for students from Key Stage 3 upwards. Learn more here:
Education Pass for Alternative Providers
Here at Dartmoor Zoo, we understand that learning does not need to be confined to the classroom walls and that for some students an outdoor learning environment can support their engagement. We have 10 years experience working directly with alternative providers and have won awards for the programmes we have developed. We are pleased to now offer our new Alternative Provider Education Pass.
With our education pass, you will have a unique opportunity to visit our site with unlimited student admission during term time*. Whether you have one student who needs to escape into nature, or a group of students who want to learn more about the natural world, our education pass has the flexibility for you to do this. Whatever your students needs, our education pass provides an opportunity to tailor and enrich students’ experiences and diversify their learning opportunities away from the normal classroom environment.
